The Tide That Took Ian

Once upon a time in a small seaside village, lived a boy named Ian. Ian was known for his wild spirit and playful nature, but he was also very naughty. He never listened to his parents and often did things just to prove he was braver than anyone else.

One sunny afternoon, the waves roared louder than usual. The villagers warned everyone to stay away from the sea. Ian’s parents told him firmly, “Stay home today. The tides are dangerous.” But Ian just laughed. “I’m not afraid of some silly waves!”

Later that day, Ian’s best friend, Leo, saw him carrying his surfboard toward the beach. “Ian! Don’t go! The waves are huge today. You could get hurt!” Leo cried.

Ian grinned. “I’m brave, Leo. I could never drown. Watch me!”

Before Leo could stop him, Ian ran into the ocean. At first, he surfed with ease, jumping over waves like a dolphin. But then, the sky darkened, and a monstrous tide rose like a giant. Ian’s board flipped. He tried to swim, but the waves were too strong. His cries for help were swallowed by the sea.

The village searched, but Ian was gone. The ocean had taken him, just as it had been warned.

The next day, the villagers held a small ceremony by the shore. Leo placed Ian’s favorite seashell on the sand and whispered, “I wish you had listened.”

From that day on, the children of the village always remembered Ian—brave, but too proud to listen.

Moral of the Story:

Bravery is not about ignoring danger—it's about knowing when to listen. Always respect warnings and obey those who care about you.
