The Brave Mouse and the Cat
Once upon a time, there was a brave mouse who lived in a big house. He was very smart and adventurous. He liked to explore the house and find new things to play with.
One day, he found a shiny red ball in the living room. He thought it was a toy and wanted to roll it around. He pushed it with his nose and watched it bounce on the floor.
He was having so much fun that he didn't notice that the ball belonged to the cat who lived in the house too.
The cat was sleeping on the couch when he heard a noise. He opened his eyes and saw his ball rolling away. He was angry and jealous that someone took his toy.
He jumped off the couch and chased after the ball. He saw the mouse who was playing with it.
He thought: "How dare this mouse steal my ball! I'll teach him a lesson!"
He ran towards the mouse and tried to catch him.
The mouse saw the cat coming and got scared. He knew that the cat was bigger and stronger than him.
He thought: "Oh no! The cat is after me! What should I do?"
He had two choices: he could run away or he could face the cat.
He decided to face the cat. He stopped running and turned around.
He said: "Hey! This is not your ball! This is mine! I found it first!"
The cat was surprised but not impressed by the mouse's courage.
He said: "Ha! You're just a little mouse. You can't talk back to me. I'm the boss here. Give me back my ball or I'll eat you!"
The mouse didn't give up. He stood his ground and said: "No! You can't bully me or anyone else. You have to share your toys and be nice to others."
The cat laughed and said: "Share? Be nice? Why should I? I'm bigger than you and everyone else in this house. I can do whatever I want."
The mouse said: "That's not true. You're not bigger than everyone else in this house. There's someone who's bigger than you."
The cat said: "Who? Who's bigger than me?"
The mouse pointed at the window.
He said: “Look! There’s someone who’s bigger than you. He’s coming this way. He’s the owner of this house. He’s a human!”
The cat looked at the window and saw a man walking towards the house. He was tall and muscular. He had black hair and blue eyes. He wore a blue shirt and jeans.
He was holding a leash in his hand. On the other end of the leash, there was a big dog who was barking loudly.
The cat recognized the man and the dog. They were his worst enemies.
He thought: “Oh no! It’s him! It’s Bob! And he has his dog with him! They hate me! They always chase me and try to hurt me!”
He felt a cold shiver down his spine. He forgot about the ball and the mouse.
He said: “Yikes! I have to get out of here!”
He turned around and ran away as fast as he could.
He hid under the bed and hoped that they wouldn’t find him.
The mouse watched the cat run away.
He smiled and said: “Ha! That’ll teach him a lesson!”
He picked up the ball and continued to play with it.
He was happy that he stood up to the cat and defended himself.
He thought: “I’m not just a little mouse. I’m a brave mouse!”
